Tea with CAVThe new CAV Podcast series.

We've always believed that some of the most important change starts with a conversation. So join us for TEA WITH CAV, a new podcast series, bringing together real people, real experiences and real conversations about the issues affecting our young people, families and communities. Some conversations will be difficult, some will be emotional. Some will inspire..But all of them will matter. We'll listen to lived experience, amplify voices that aren't always heard and talk openly about violence, exploitation, grief, prevention, community and change. Grab a cuppa, pull up a chair, and join the conversation.

The Fatal Question Campaign

The Fatal Question Campaign

CAV supported the Fatal Question campaign by RAW Research. Brave mothers of knife crime victims, including CAV's own Katherine, shared their devastating stories to send a powerful message to young people across the UK.

In June 2025, CAV was contacted by RAW Research in connection with the Fatal Question campaign. Our own incredible Katherine, Kamari Johnson's mum, along with other courageous mothers including Kelly (Rhameeo West's mum), Leeanne (Ava White's mum), and Alison (Joshua Ribera's mum), all shared the devastating pain and loss of their children to carry this vital message.

Through unimaginable grief, these mothers found the strength to stand up, speak out, and try to save other families from going through what they have. StreetDoctors' message is clear: violence doesn't solve problems, it destroys futures.

Together, we must keep reminding young people that their lives are valuable, their potential is limitless, and there is always another way. CAV is proud to stand alongside these families and amplify their message.

CAV marked Knife Crime Awareness Week 2025 with activities, outreach, and community engagement — adding our voice to the national conversation and driving local action.

During Knife Crime Awareness Week 2025 (19–25 May), Communities Against Violence joined organisations across the country in raising awareness of knife crime and its devastating impact on young people, families, and communities.

CAV used the week to amplify our message, engage with communities, and highlight the work being done on the ground in Berkshire and Greater London to prevent violence and support those affected.

CAV, Knife Crime Awareness Football Event & BBC Radio

CAV featured in The Link Slough alongside a knife crime awareness football event and BBC radio coverage — a landmark moment for our growing profile in the fight against youth violence.

April 2025 marked a significant milestone for Communities Against Violence, with CAV featured in The Link Slough — the borough's community news platform — highlighting our knife crime awareness work and growing impact across the region.

Alongside the media coverage, CAV hosted a knife crime awareness football event bringing together young people, community organisations, and Thames Valley Police to promote positive alternatives to violence.

The event and BBC radio coverage helped amplify CAV's message to a wider audience — reinforcing that communities, not just services, are the key to lasting change.
